💻 Online Nutritionist — Available Across NZ

Qualified nutrition support, wherever you are in NZ.

Geography shouldn’t determine who gets access to good nutrition support. Whether you’re in Auckland, Queenstown, or a small town in Northland — working with a qualified nutritionist online is just as effective as being in the room, and often easier to actually fit into your life.

Why online works

Just as effective — and genuinely more convenient

A lot of people assume face-to-face is somehow better for nutrition work. In practice, it rarely makes a difference — and for many people, online sessions are actually a better fit for their life. Here’s why.

🏡

No commute, no car park

Sessions happen from wherever is most comfortable for you — your kitchen, your office, your couch. No travel time, no stress, no scramble to get there on time.

📍

Access from anywhere in NZ

If you live outside Auckland — or even if you’re in Auckland but simply don’t want to travel — online removes the location barrier entirely. Rural NZ, regional centres, all covered.

🗓️

Easier to stay consistent

The biggest predictor of results is showing up to sessions consistently. When sessions fit into your routine easily — rather than requiring you to reorganise your day — follow-through improves significantly.

🌏

Works if you travel

Whether you’re travelling for work, going between cities, or spending time in Australia — sessions continue uninterrupted. Your nutritionist travels with you.

🍽️

Your kitchen is right there

Being in your own environment is genuinely useful. You can show me what’s actually in your fridge and pantry, talk through real meal situations, and make the advice immediately practical.

🔒

Private and comfortable

Nutrition consultations touch on personal topics — food history, body image, health struggles. Many people find it easier to speak openly from their own space.

How it works

What an online session actually looks like

If you’ve never worked with a nutritionist online before, it’s worth knowing it’s genuinely simple. There’s no special software to install — just a Zoom link in your inbox and a device to join from. Here’s how it unfolds.

1

Book your call

Choose a time that works for you from the online calendar. You’ll get a confirmation and a Zoom link immediately.

2

Complete an intake form

Before the session, you’ll fill in a short questionnaire about your health history, diet, and goals. This helps me make the most of our time together.

3

Join the Zoom call

Click the link at the scheduled time from your phone, tablet, or computer. No downloads required. We talk, just like any video call.

4

Receive your plan

After the consultation, I send your personalised plan, notes, and any resources by email — everything in one place, easy to refer back to.

5

Ongoing check-ins

Follow-up sessions keep things on track. We adjust your plan as needed and build on what’s working — all from wherever you happen to be.

The only difference between an online session and an in-person one is that you don’t have to leave your house. The quality of the consultation, the depth of the conversation, and the support you receive are exactly the same.

What I help with

Online sessions cover the full range of nutrition support I offer. If you’ve landed on this page because you’re looking for a nutritionist in your area — you’ve found one. Location isn’t a barrier anymore.

About Luke

A qualified nutritionist you can trust — wherever you are

I’m Luke Gabites — a Registered Clinical Nutritionist (CNA) and Wellness Educator based in Auckland. I graduated with first-class honours from the Institute of Holistic Nutrition and completed specialist Clinical Nutrition training under Dr. Cliff Harvey at the Holistic Performance Institute. I’ve also continued postgraduate learning in nutritional psychiatry and metabolic wellness at Aberdeen and Deakin University.

My work combines evidence-based nutritional science with psychology and mindfulness — which means I look at the whole person, not just the plate. Before running my own practice, I interned with health researcher and best-selling author Jason Shon Bennett, and I continue to share research through writing, podcasting, and education.

I’ve worked with clients across New Zealand and internationally — from Auckland and Wellington to rural towns and people based overseas. The location has never mattered. What matters is the work.

Common questions

Everything you might want to know before booking

Is online nutrition consulting actually as effective as in-person?

Yes — and the evidence supports this. Research on telehealth nutrition consulting consistently shows comparable outcomes to in-person care for most conditions and goals. The quality of the consultation depends on the practitioner and the process, not the format. Many of my clients have achieved significant results — including blood sugar improvements, weight loss, and sustained energy — entirely through online sessions.

What do I need for an online session?

Just a device with a camera and internet connection — a laptop, phone, or tablet all work fine. Sessions are held via Zoom, which you don’t need to install in advance. A link comes to your email and you simply click to join. A quiet space where you can talk privately is helpful.

What happens if I have tech issues on the day?

Tech hiccups happen occasionally. If you can’t connect via Zoom, we can switch to a phone call with no disruption to the session. Just drop me a message and we’ll sort it straight away.

Can I work with you if I’m not in Auckland?

Absolutely — that’s exactly what the online service is designed for. I work with clients across New Zealand, from Northland to Southland, as well as New Zealanders living overseas. Time zone differences can usually be accommodated for international clients.

How long are sessions, and how many will I need?

The initial consultation is typically 60–75 minutes — enough time to go through your full health history, diet, and goals in depth. Follow-up sessions are usually 45 minutes. How many sessions you need depends entirely on your goals and how things progress. Some clients see meaningful results after two or three sessions; others benefit from longer-term support. We’ll talk through what’s realistic for your situation on the discovery call.

Do you offer in-person sessions as well?

Yes — if you’re based in Auckland and prefer to meet in person, that’s available. Most clients find online sessions work just as well, but the option is there if you’d like it. Mention this when you book your discovery call.
